As the husband of a former Israeli soldier who proudly supports President Obama, I’m appalled by the depths to which the Romney campaign will sink to use Israel’s security for political gain. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have repeatedly been unable to point to a single genuine criticism of Obama and, instead, have resorted to cynical, empty scare tactics.
The record shows that Obama has been a staunch supporter of Israel’s security and the West’s most committed opponent of Iran’s nuclear ambition. Most important, it is Obama — not Romney or Ryan — who exemplifies the principles of compassion and social justice on which the Jewish state itself was founded.
