When Florida State plays Miami, there’s always plenty of trash-talking between the two teams. But junior safety (and former Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas standout) Lamarcus Joyner said Florida State prefers to do most of its talking with its play.

“Yeah, it always [is] mostly from the UM guys,” Joyner said. “I mean, we believe that we’re the dominant team in Florida, and whether they believe it or not — they may believe it in their hearts, too — I guess that’s why they come to trash talk.

“[But] we’re just going to go down there and play football.”

• Florida State knows the Hurricanes have the athleticism to give them fits on special teams. After struggling on special teams two of the past three weeks, FSU is spending extra time on it this week in practice.
