American Heritage and South Plantation enter the top 5.

1. University School (6-0) at Westminster Christian (4-3), 4, Friday.

Andre’s pick: University 42, Westminster Christian 14. The beat goes on for the Suns, who lock up the District 8-3A title with this victory.

2. Booker T. Washington (5-1) vs. Doral Academy (2-5), 7:30, Fri., Curtis.

Andre’s pick: Booker T. 55, Doral 6. District play and the Tornadoes keep racking up blowout wins.

3. Central (3-2) vs. 7. Carol City (6-1), 7, Thurs., Traz.

Andre’s pick: Central 24, Carol City 14. The Rockets’ depth will make the difference in this one.

4. American Heritage (5-1) vs. Pompano Beach (0-7), 7:30, Friday.

Andre’s pick: American Heritage 51, Pompano Beach 6. No trouble expected here for the Patriots.

5. South Plantation (6-0) at Coral Springs (3-3), 7, Friday.

Andre’s pick: South Plantation 24, Coral Springs 7. The Paladins get a little closer to the district championship.

6. St. Thomas Aquinas (4-2) at Nova (4-3), 7, Friday.

Andre’s pick: St. Thomas 42, Nova 13. The Raiders should cruise to another district victory.

8. Cypress Bay (4-2) vs. West Broward (1-6), 7, Friday.

Andre’s pick: Cypress Bay 45, West Broward 7. Lightning gets back on track this week.

9. Northwestern (5-1) vs. Belen Jesuit (2-4), 7, Sat., Traz.

Andre’s pick: Northwestern 17, Belen 7. Bulls should get some payback against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year.

10. Columbus (4-3) vs. Coral Gables (2-4), 7, Sat., Curtis.

Andre’s pick: Columbus 35, Coral Gables 7. Explorers take out frustrations on overmatched district foe.

11. Northeast (5-1) at Blanche Ely (4-2), 7, Saturday.

Andre’s pick: Northeast 27, Blanche Ely 17. Hurricanes continue surge to top of district.

12. South Dade (6-1) vs. Palmetto (3-3), 7:30, Fri., Harris.

Andre’s pick: South Dade 31, Palmetto 7. Bucs show off high-powered offense and tough defense again.

13. Plantation (5-1) vs. McArthur (3-3), 7, Fri., PAL.

Andre’s pick: Plantation 41, McArthur 14. Colonels pick up another district win to set up showdown next week with Aquinas.

14. Killian (5-1) vs. Coral Reef (3-3), 4, Thurs., Southridge.

Andre’s pick: Killian 17, Coral Reef 10. Tough one here, but the Cougars get past one of the teams that denied them a playoff spot last year.

15. Western (6-0) at Flanagan (5-2), 7, Friday.

Andre’s pick: Western 21, Flanagan 14. Wildcats defense has gone under the radar but has been pivotal to undefeated start.

16. Homestead (5-2): Bye week.

17. Cardinal Gibbons (6-0) vs. Dillard (4-3), 7, Friday.

Andre’s pick: Cardinal Gibbons 23, Dillard 21. Tough district battle goes to the host Chiefs.

18. Boyd Anderson (4-1) vs. Monarch (5-1), 7, Friday.

Andre’s pick: Boyd Anderson 27, Monarch 7. Cobras appear to be getting back on track after Miramar victory.

19. Jackson (5-2) vs. 20. Norland (5-2), 7:30, Fri., Traz.

Andre’s pick: Norland 7, Jackson 6. Neither team scored last week. The District 16-5A title is pretty much on the line. Expect best defense to win.
