Those wanting to witness the names of the more than 58,000 people lost during the Vietnam War do not have to travel to Washington, D.C.
The Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall, a three-quarter-scale replica of Washingtons Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will be up for public viewing at Davies Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial South from Friday through Monday. The replica has all the names of those lost; and pencil and paper will be available for etchings.
The monument was created as a service to those who might never travel to the nations capital to experience the Vietnam Veterans Memorial firsthand, said Melissa Pitalo, area director for Dignity Memorial providers in Fort Lauderdale. Our replica offers visitors a chance for healing and reflections.
A series of activities, including a candlelight vigil and a parade, will run in conjunction with the walls display.
