Reading several papers online shows that Miami is not a baseball town and will not achieve that status until our local papers report the sport completely.
The playoffs have been amazing, yet even where their teams are not in the playoffs, papers in cities such as Chicago have a front-page summary of baseball scores and a front-page article in the sports section. Forgetting to report the playoffs only encourages Miami’s declining interest in the sport, and an article about Jeffrey Loria’s team is worthless.
It seems that we read about football and basketcall all year, no matter how insignificant the story. Try providing the same coverage to baseball at a minimum and our interest in and attendance at the games might improve.
