Appearing on weekend talk shows, Obama campaign surrogates David Axelrod, Stephanie Cutter and Robert Gibbs spent the time chastising Republicans for politicizing the Libyan tragedy. Their time would have been better spent clearing up this administration’s inconsistent and inaccurate statements still being made five weeks after four Americans, including a U.S. ambassador, were murdered.
We, in fact, knew within 24 hours that it was a terrorist attack. Why did administration officials, including the president, Susan Rice and Joe Biden, days and weeks later say it was spontaneous reaction to a video or that they did not know? Of course, they knew, and we have the right to know what happened, who knew, when and who should be held accountable.
