A 20-year-old man has been charged with fatally shooting a young mother in an August drive-by minutes after she left a Miami club, according to police.
Ansel Smart is charged with one count of first-degree murder. He was in a Miami-Dade jail, held without bail.
The motive for the slaying remains unclear but an altercation inside Club Romance may have sparked the violence.
Police said Lakisha Lampley died Aug. 12 shortly after leaving the club at 3451 NW 36th St., near Miami International Airport, with a group of friends, Miami police said.
The mother of five and the rest of her group left about 3 a.m., after getting into a disagreement with a group of men, her family said.
Lampley was in a gray 2006 Altima with her sister, a cousin and three friends when a black SUV pulled up and someone inside opened fire on Lampleys group.
Lampley was fatally wounded. She was rushed to a hospital by friends but died.
