There’s a bigger-than-a-Mack-truck loophole in the voter registration process. Registrants must present proof of residence, but no proof of citizenship or even indicate where they were born. With 51 percent of Miami-Dade’s population being foreign born and with only 47 percent of our foreign-born population being naturalized citizens, this lack of proof is an invitation to massive voter fraud.
Driver licenses are issued to both citizens and legal foreign residents, but they neither indicate nor prove citizenship. Whether ACORN or Strategic Allied Consulting is hired to fill out registration forms, including checking “yes” for citizenship, it’s a total farce.
Presenting ID to vote doesn’t address this kind of fraud either.
Our ballots are in three languages, but voter registration forms are English only.
