Re the Oct. 5 article, State Hispanics back Obama: I am an American of Cuban origin who lives in Coral Gables. Many other Cuban Americans and I don’t know a single one that favors President Obama.
The poll was conducted by Latino Decisions for America’s Voice, a group that advocates for liberal immigration policies. This indicates Cuban Americans weren’t consulted, since this isn’t an issue that affects them directly. Are these registered voters? Was this poll taken in South Florida? Which Hispanics were targeted?
I find this article misleading, not representative of the total Hispanic population in Florida, where I believe Cuban Americans still represent a majority among registered voters.
