After reading the Sept. 20 article, Holocaust museum leaving Hollywood for Dania Beach, I must say I’m both disappointed and pleased that the museum has found a new home. It seems Hollywood didn’t want to help museum executives repair and restore the deteriorating space they acquired.
The Holocaust is something that’s very dear to me, not because I personally knew anyone who endured it, but because as a human being I cannot comprehend how someone could have so much hatred in their heart. I strongly believe that one of the best ways to learn is to remember.
The move from Hollywood to Dania Beach will give the museum a way to educate others and provide a welcoming place to those who lost family, as well as to those who survived. It’s in their honor that this museum will be around for generations to come.
