Horoscopes

If today is your birthday: This year you will assume a strong leadership role and be able to handle it well. You have unusually high energy and drive. Curb an unexpected and sometimes combative style if you become frustrated. Have an outlet, such as a sport or hobby, to help you release this unusual liveliness. If you are single, you will meet someone special through your travels and/or an acquaintance. If you are attached, the two of you become closer if you take up a mutual commitment. Your sweetie could be taken aback by your high energy. Cancer enjoys seeing you take the lead.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Your ability to deal with someone difficult becomes even more obvious. This person is rebellious. Know that you cannot push him or her. A child or loved one throws a tantrum because he or she needs something that you can choose to provide. Tonight: Allow in more fun.

This Week: Monday and Thursday highlight you. You might want to vanish in between.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): You have made plans with a parent or older friend, but you’ll discover that neither of you wants to do what is planned; however, you do still want to spend time together. Be spontaneous, and you will enjoy yourselves more. Tonight: A force to be dealt with.

This Week: You’ll take the lead and think all is well, which might not be the case.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Your perception could be way off when dealing with a difficult neighbor or sibling. You could be too involved in the situation to respond in a neutral manner. Do something to distract yourself. Tonight: Follow the music.

This Week: Do adequate research before you express your opinion. You will sound more knowledgeable and confident.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Decide to take a leisurely walk with a dear friend or close loved one. The time will recharge your energy and allow you to bond closer with this person. Every relationship needs special time -- even friendships. Tonight: Stick with the togetherness theme.

This Week: You interact on a one-on-one level. Be willing to detach.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): You might want to defer to someone else’s way of thinking, especially if you are feeling testy. The less you try to be in control, the better off you will be. Listen to what this person shares, and try to get out of your own head. Tonight: Sort through invitations.

This Week: Others respond to you, but maintain their distance.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Make this your day for some R and R. The activities you choose could reflect your mental state. Easily, a roommate or loved one might decide to join you. Make sure that having this person come along will not stress you out. Tonight: Start thinking about tomorrow.
