Miami Beach police were speaking Friday with an attorney representing a Real Housewives of Miami star’s son accused of attacking a homeless man on Lincoln Road.

Gary Lee Brown, a 62-year-old homeless man, said he was sleeping behind BCBG Max Azria, a women’s clothing chain, when a man identified as Peter Rosello punched him in the groin.

Rosello, 20, is the son of Alexia Echevarria, the self-proclaimed “Cuban Barbie” from the Bravo show Real Housewives of Miami.

Gregory Samms, Rosello’s attorney, said Friday that he is speaking with police but a meeting between detectives and his client “hasn’t been worked out as of yet” due to a previously scheduled surgery.

“He is physically incapacitated at the time,” Samms said of Rosello, who lives in Miami Beach’s condo canyon.

Police learned of the alleged attack Wednesday when TMZ.com sent them a link to a video posted on Rosello’s Facebook page and asked if they were investigating.

The video appears to show Rosello addressing the camera, saying he will be “punching a hobo in the nuts.”

He then approaches a bearded Brown lying on a piece of cardboard in doorway. Brown tilts his baseball cap back as the younger man gets closer.

“I was gonna give you five dollars,” Rosello says before pounding a fist into the man’s crotch and running. A few seconds later, viewers can hear a car engine start.

The video found its way onto YouTube, entitled “Hobo Gets NutChecked!!!!”

Members of the city’s Homeless Outreach Team viewed the video and recognized the homeless man as Brown, whom they located outside the New World Center.

According to a police report of the incident, Brown told investigators he was sleeping behind BCBG on Lincoln Road “several days earlier” when a stranger attacked him unprovoked. Brown said he didn’t report the attack because he “feared for his life,” according to police.

Brown wants to press charges and police have said they have probable cause to arrest Rosello.

A police report categorizes the incident as simple battery.

When someone asked Rosello on Facebook why he made the video, he apparently responded: “Because it’s funnyyyyyyyy,” and then: “I feel bad for those people. didn’t mean to offend anyone. they got my love, i always give them like 5 bucks or weed.”

It has been a rough year for Echevarria, editor of Venue, a lifestyle magazine. She took heat last year after referring to people in Hialeah as “lower” on Real Housewives of Miami. A few months later, another son, Frankie Rosello, survived life-threatening injuries suffered in a car crash.
