Samuel Adams hosts the Brickell Beer Festival with more than 15 varieties of Samuel Adams beer to be sampled, food from local restaurants and bars and music by some of Miami’s favorite local DJs, along with live performances and more. 1001 S. Miami Ave., Miami; www.brickellfestival; $15-$50.

Kick off the season with the Green Room Society, the Arsht Center’s young professional patrons group, with a cocktail soiree to celebrate the upcoming Live at Knight series, which kicks off Oct. 19 with a performance by Idle Warship, hip-hop legend Talib Kweli’s duo with longtime collaborator Res. Also on the Live at Knight itinerary: Macy Gray in November and Esperanza Spalding in April. The Blacksmith, 444 41st St., Miami Beach; RSVP for non-members required at greenroom@arshtcenter.org.

2 LIVE

10 p.m.

    Stevie Wonder sings at his own birthday bash

    Stevie Wonder celebrated his 63rd birthday a week after the big day (May 13) with a private concert for almost 700 high rollers, VIP guests and media types Tuesday night at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The legendary Wonder performed for well over two hours, singing covers by The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Bob Marley as well as his own greatest hits. Wonder also invited some of the audience, this writer included, to audition for him on his hit, Part Time Lover. While he told us we were better than the previous, uh, contestant, we’ll be keeping the full time day job.
