Prime Minister Netanyahu continues confiscating Palestinian land, which is the biggest impediment to peace in the Middle East and a major source of hatred towards the United States.
Nevertheless, he now demands that Pres. Obama draw a “red line” beyond which the U.S. would go to war against Iran without flexibility to maneuver for other options.
The answer to the problem is a denuclearization of the region. Recently, Israel strongly rejected a U.S.-backed Arab plan for a nuclear-free Mideast conference. Israel is one of a few countries that refused to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, but Iran did. If every country were to sign such a treaty, with verification, the problem would be solved. Netanyahu can’t have it both ways.
