More ‘Idol’ chatter with Nicki, Mariah and Keith

And the American Idol saga continues. TMZ.com reports that Nicki Minaj is “furious” with the producers of the singing competition because they prodded Mariah Carey to start a fight on the set.

Sources connected with Minaj told the website the performer believes producers and Carey’s contingent are conspiring to make her angry to attract viewers. The source says the next time Carey “acts up,” Minaj is walking off the set. One big problem with this theory: TMZ says that its Idol sources say producers were stunned by Tuesday’s outburst.

TMZ also reported that Barbara Walters entered the fray on The View Thursday, saying Carey told her she was “concerned” because “multiple people heard Nicki say, ‘If I had a gun I would shoot the b----.’ ”

Meanwhile, fellow judge Keith Urban has a different take: He says the judges, which include veteran Randy Jackson, are getting along. Really? Then again, he also told the Associated Press he’s “the U.N.” between Minaj and Carey and that he’s got the “best seat in the house.” Urban was attending a New York Film Festival gala honoring his wife, Nicole Kidman.
