Clinton’s delayed response

 

Re the Sept. 27 article, Clinton ties N. African militants, Libya attack: It’s great that Secretary of State Hilary Clinton finally figured out that this year’s Sept. 11 attack was organized terrorism and not a movie critique.

Why were world leaders not briefed and prepared prior to the attack? Why were the embassies not put on alert?

If Libya and Egypt don’t defend our embassies, will U.S. troops defend our diplomats and citizens abroad? Do our Democratic leaders not understand that we are at still at war and it’s not about individual free speech, but global terrorism?

    Teachers risk their lives

    Between the horrific shooting in Connecticut and the devastating tornado in Oklahoma, schools, tragically, have been at the epicenter of the carnage. In both cases, teachers put their lives on the line to protect their charges, innocent children, by placing themselves between the kids and harm’s way.

    The Pentagon wants $450 million for improving and maintaining the Guantánamo Bay prison. President Obama has made a promise and wants to close the facility that houses cq166 prisoners; however, he has faced opposition from Republican and Democrats in Congress.
