Squatters in Coral Gables

 

Believe it or not we have squatters living on our simple little street in Coral Gables. How can that be? After days spent trying to answer that simple question it is apparent that squatters have more rights than residents.

The abandoned house fell victim about 20 days ago. With illegal change of locks, stolen access to water and lies to FPL, they are fat and happy with no cares.

The police can’t evict them until Bank of America tells them to. Many hours on “hold” with BofA later, no answer. On so many levels this is horrible.

    Teachers risk their lives

    Between the horrific shooting in Connecticut and the devastating tornado in Oklahoma, schools, tragically, have been at the epicenter of the carnage. In both cases, teachers put their lives on the line to protect their charges, innocent children, by placing themselves between the kids and harm’s way.

    The Pentagon wants $450 million for improving and maintaining the Guantánamo Bay prison. President Obama has made a promise and wants to close the facility that houses cq166 prisoners; however, he has faced opposition from Republican and Democrats in Congress.
