I’d love for Carl Hiaasen to investigate the lush tropical forest planted along S.R. 874 between Kendall and Killian Parkway. Trees were planted so close together that it’s a hazard to whoever is entrusted to mow.
How much will it cost to maintain? I bet that amount would have paid for the upgrades to the water and sewer infrastructure that has deteriorated over decades.
I’m all for the beautification, but unless the land has been leased to some nursery mogul for agricultural use, I can’t figure any rationale for such high density foliage along that highway.
