I retired from American Airlines, got my money and am not affected by the current problems. I have friends who are pilots who are in the fight of their life against a vindictive, self-serving management. At 30,000 feet with the engine on fire who do you want in the cockpit? A professionally-trained pilot or CEO Tom Horton, who in an emergency might fall two and a half feet off his chair.
If there was an orchestrated sick out I can assure you that AMR, the parent company, would ask for a court injunction against the union — notice they haven’t. If AMR wants to find the problem with AA they should look in the mirror.
