Miami Christian bowling
It is a family affair on the Miami Christian School varsity boys’ bowling team.
The Yaniz brothers (twins Alex and Jeffrey) guide the Victors, coached by their father, Amado.
Alex as a freshman last year won the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair Tournament with a 254 high game and 692 high set. His average for the season 204. Jeffrey, who averaged 149, won the Individual Youth Memorial Tournament.
The Yaniz twins have been youth bowlers in Miami-Dade County many years. So have their parents.
They’ve amassed lots of bowling awards and titles locally, statewide and nationally. Jackie, their mom, rolled her first perfect game recently in an Adult/Junior Doubles League with Jeffrey as her bowling partner.
MCS also features the Vilas (junior Joaquin and sophomore Christian), junior Alex Roque and freshman Anthony Febre.
The Victors placed fifth in last year’s Miami-Dade County Youth Fair Tournament.
