Focus is key for Florida State Seminoles

Miami Herald Writer

One of the biggest keys to Florida State’s success Saturday night will be its ability to block out distractions.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” will be in town for the matchup with No. 10 Clemson, and the game will be played in prime time at Doak Campbell Stadium.

On Thursday, FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said he was pleased with his team’s focus during the week.

“I thought they practiced extremely well. I thought they handled it, kept the distractions down; I liked their focus,” Fisher said.

“Tuesday is always tougher because you’re putting in new things, but it really started getting really good [Thursday].”

Haggins gets a break

Junior wide receiver Jarred Haggins was held out of practice Thursday but should be able to play Saturday against the Tigers.

“Yeah, we held him out for a little bit,” Fisher said.

“But they told us he should be able to [play].”
