After a daylong alert, Miami police say a missing woman from the Coral Way area has been “recovered.”
The woman, Carol Ann Freeman, 48, was described by police as possibly violent and suicidal. She was last seen wearing a black dress and driving a four-door 2011 brown Volkswagen Jetta.
Police say she has been placed in protective custody.

A rededication ceremony was held Friday, May 10, for the Brucie Ball Educational Center in Miami. Brucie Ball, who had been the assistant superintendent of the Office of Special Education and Psychological Services, passed away in 2008. The former Merrick Educational Center was renamed at a School Board meeting on March 13 in recognition of Ball’s efforts in special education.
