One dead, one arrested after shooting in Overtown. Police says, investigation is still open.

A shooting has left one man dead in Overtown and another in police custody

Miami police are investigating what led to the fatal shooting Tuesday at 1117 NW Third Ave.

At about 5:30 a.m., two men, one of them picking up his daughter from a relative’s home, got into a confrontation. One of them taunted the other with a gun, then opened fire, killing him.

The victim’s name is being withheld until family is notified. The shooter remained on the scene and was immediately taken into custody and questioned by homicide detectives. The investigation is still open and no charges have yet been filed.

Police said the shooting in Overtown is not connected to a shooting in Little Haiti Monday night.
