La Salle outlasts TERRA after five sets in girls’ volleyball

 

The La Salle girls’ volleyball team came up clutch in a back-and-forth fifth set to defeat TERRA 25-13, 25-23, 24-26, 22-25, 15-13 on Tuesday night.

Maria Cuesta led the Royal Lions (4-2) with 16 kills, eight aces and three digs, and Alex Arrellano dominated defensively with six blocks to go along with her three kills.

In a 2-0 hole, TERRA pushed the match to the decisive set by bouncing back to take sets three and four and give La Salle a scare after it handled TERRA early on the match.

Camilla Latimer also contributed to the Royal Lions’ victory with six kills and a dig.

Christina Averhoff had a team-high 29 assists.
