Sophomore Richard Leonard was named the College Football Performance Awards National Punt Returner of the Week. Leonard had 91 yards on five returns, one of which was a 49-yard touchdown. Ironically, Leonard might not keep that job. He fumbled on a punt return for the second week in a row and fellow cornerback Sam Miller had an 80-yard punt return that was called back on an illegal block penalty.

• On Tuesday, FIU expects to announce a game against an in-state opponent that will replace the home game Texas A&M bought out for the 2013 season.

• Junior running back Kedrick Rhodes, who missed the last half of Saturday’s game with an unspecified injury, was back at practice Monday. Senior linebacker Alex Robinson might have sustained a knee injury on the opening kickoff and will miss at least the game against Central Florida.
