I enjoyed the Aug. 26 article Al Sunshine celebrates 40 years on the air in South Florida and the Sept. 2 article Delivery stops at UM dorms yield many pets, describing Miami of the late 1940s and 1950s. But I can attest that Miami then was not a small sleepy town dependent on tourism to Miami Beach.
I’ve lived in South Miami, North Bay Village and then Miami Beach at that time and remember it well. Miami was a big town then, but, of course, we are much bigger now.
