The fashion scene

Hed here

The line outside the Calvin Klein store on Madison Avenue Thursday night — Fashion’s Night Out — caused some pedestrian commotion, but none of the fashionistas seemed to mind. Inside, the Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade was signing copies of his new book, A Father First.

Dressed in a dark grey suit with the sleeves pushed up, Wade held court at a large table. Moments ago, in the empty chair beside him was Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, his new BFF.

“The queen just left,’’ a grinning Wade said of the godmother of Fashion’s Night Out, begun in 2009 to get shoppers to open their wallets.

Good timing that the Miami Heat star’s book tour coincided with NYC Fashion Week.

“I’m loving this,’’ said the father of two, who was back at home on Friday for a Books & Books signing in Fort Lauderdale and Sunday in Coral Gables.

“It’s so nice to see fans from all over,” said Wade, pointing at the throngs aiming their cellphone cameras, texting like crazy or clutching copies of the hardcover.

The only downside: “It’s getting harder to just walk down the street.”

At Michael Kors, model Kate Upton in a tight blue dress and Smash star Debra Messing (in a hip furry vest) did their best American Idol judge impressions, throwing out often harsh commentary to brave singers partaking in a “Kors Karaoke” contest.

Miss Piggy managed to upstage Donna Karan at the designer’s store. The always-glamorous muppet wore an elegant black dress that accentuated her . . . curves.

Attendees of the party at luxury Swiss watch brand Girard-Perregaux saw an Olympian in the flesh: U.S. soccer star Alex Morgan in a tight white dress with cap sleeves that showed off bulging biceps. Her wrist was decorated with a fabulous diamond timepiece, called the Cat’s Eye. Safe to say she wouldn’t take that baby on the field.

“No! This is for putting next to me on my bedside table after I am done sweating,’’ said Morgan. “This is just too beautiful.”

Stars were also spotted on the street. Dania Ramirez popped out of a black SUV on Madison Avenue with an entourage. The actress, recently in Miami to promote her movie Premium Rus h, was hard to miss in sparkly gold leggings and a black tuxedo jacket. She said she was having fun seeing the shows and had attended a BCBG Max Azria preview earlier in the day.

A ballerina theme was going at J. Mendel, with a lithe, tutu-ed dancer striking poses in the window. That’s because Mary Helen Bowers was there signing copies of her new book, Ballet Beautiful. The star trainer helped Natalie Portman for 2010 Oscar winner Black Swan.

Reality star Laura Osnes, who appeared in NBC’s Grease: You’re the One that I Want! and is currently playing Cinderella on Broadway, was trying on a new type of slippers at Cesare Paciotti. “I’m in shoe heaven,” said Osnes in a pair of skyscraper glittery pumps.

Other random sightings: Sarah Jessica Parker at Oscar de la Renta; Ryan Lochte at Calvin Klein; Solange Knowles at Christian Louboutin; Justin Bieber at Michael Kors; Kellan Lutz at Bloomingdale’s; Victoria Beckham at Bergdorf Goodman.

The legendary Wonder performed for well over two hours, singing covers by The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Bob Marley as well as his own greatest hits. Wonder also invited some of the audience, this writer included, to audition for him on his hit, Part Time Lover. While he told us we were better than the previous, uh, contestant, we’ll be keeping the full time day job.

    Amanda Bynes: hot mess extraordinaire

The term “hot mess” doesn’t come close to describing Amanda Bynes. The troubled actress appeared disheveled in a long blond wig and sweats Friday in a criminal court where she was charged with reckless endangerment. She was also charged with attempted tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of marijuana, all misdemeanors.
