Mike’s bar at the Venetia condominium near downtown Miami had to close early and residents were told to look for temporary accommodations after utility problems blipped off the lights and water at the building.

Managers at the building, 555 NE 15th St., at the foot of the Venetian Causeway, expect the power problems to persist on Wednesday.

Mike’s, the Irish pub that usually promotes sporting events, will miss out on the NFL’s opening game Wednesday night if the power remains out.

J.Fieldz, a music artist who uses his professional name, who lives on the 21st floor, is camping out with no power or water. He says he has no place to go. "They are not offering us anything, nothing,” he said.

The woes started Monday, according to the management, with a flood on the 11th floor during an emergency repair to an air-conditioning unit that broke a water pipe. The flood led to the blowout of an electrical transformer.
