As a disillusioned Republican, today I realized that I am not a GOP voter and feel fortunate to not consider myself one.
From the convention speeches and conservative pundits, a GOP voter is a woman who doesn’t mind having her rights dismissed, a Latina that believes in self-deportation, a parent who doesn’t expect the best education for her children, a middle-class family accepting increases in taxes while the top 1 percent gets more tax breaks, a single working mother made to feel inadequate because she’s not a stay-at-home mom, a baby boomer willing to forgo Medicare benefits for unknown insurance vouchers and a college-educated person denying evolution and global warming.
I am none of the above. I am not a GOP voter!
