FIU campus locked down as police looked for alleged armed robber

Florida International University’s main campus in West Miami-Dade was on lockdown Friday evening while FIU and Sweetwater police searched for an armed robber.

Students attending the regular Friday-night movie at the Graham Center were not allowed to leave when the movie was over. Students inside remained calm, according to Erin Walsh, an FIU student who spoke with a locked-down friend.

By late Friday, police had ended the lockdown and the students were allowed to leave. No arrests were made.
