Katie Couric opens up in the September issue of Good Housekeeping, bashing her former employer, CBS. “I’m really proud of the work I did . I had an ultimate sense of satisfaction but I was not ambivalent about feeling this wasn’t the place for me for the rest of my career,’’ she said of her time doing CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, which debuted in the fall of 2006. She left roughly five years later.

“It wasn’t the right environment for me. In terms of the atmosphere, it wasn’t a good fit for my sensibilities and my personality.” The 55-year-old mother of two now has her own ABC-syndicated show, debuting on Sept. 10.
