Health issues: Robin Roberts, Nick Rhodes

Duran Duran was forced to call off two weekend concerts because of the illness of keyboard player Nick Rhodes. Doctors believe it’s a viral infection, according to DD’s website.

Johnny Hallyday’s producer says the French entertainer has been hospitalized with a severe case of bronchitis. According to the Sipa news agency, Hallyday, 69, is in Guadeloupe on a summer break from an international tour.

Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts checks into the hospital for treatments and a bone marrow transplant next Tuesday. She has MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome), a blood and bone-marrow disease. She said it’s due to complications from breast cancer treatment.

    Stevie Wonder celebrated his 63rd birthday a week after the big day (May 13) with a private concert for almost 700 high rollers, VIP guests and media types Tuesday night at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The legendary Wonder performed for well over two hours, singing covers by The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Bob Marley as well as his own greatest hits. Wonder also invited some of the audience, this writer included, to audition for him on his hit, Part Time Lover. While he told us we were better than the previous, uh, contestant, we’ll be keeping the full time day job.

She was also charged with attempted tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of marijuana, all misdemeanors.
