’Hurricane Hotline’ radio show moves to The Grove Spot

Hurricane Hotline has a new location: The Grove Spot (@GroveSpot), at 3324 Virginia St. in Coconut Grove.

UM is encouraging fans to join Al Golden, various assistant coaches and players each week during the season. Hosted by Joe Zagacki and Don Bailey Jr., Hurricane Hotline will air from 7 to 9 p.m. on WQAM, with players featured from 7 to 7:30, Golden on from 7:30 to 8:30 and one assistant coach each week from 8:30 to 9.

The first show broadcasts Tuesday, with offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch as the guest assistant. The next show is on Sept. 4, with defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio on site.

NATIONALLY TELEVISED

Even though the Hurricanes are on the road for their first two games of the season, Canes fans can catch both of them on live TV.

Miami’s season opener Sept. 1 at Boston College will air at 3:30 p.m. on either ABC or ESPN2.

The Hurricanes’ Sept. 8 game at Kansas State will be televised live at noon on FX.

PRACTICE to RESUME

UM was off Thursday.

Practice will resume Friday morning at Greentree Field, where the Canes will start preparing for the BC opener.
