A D-list actor has been arrested for trying to extort millions from Harvey Weinstein. According to the Smoking Gun, Vivek Shah (who appeared in bit TV roles) was taken into custody by federal agents on Aug. 10 at his parents’ Illinois home in Schaumburg, Ill.
Shah is accused of sending nearly letters to the movie mogul/father of four as well as three other billionaires, which threaten “to kill several” family members unless large sums weren’t sent to an offshore bank account.
Stevie Wonder celebrated his 63rd birthday a week after the big day (May 13) with a private concert for almost 700 high rollers, VIP guests and media types Tuesday night at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The legendary Wonder performed for well over two hours, singing covers by The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Bob Marley as well as his own greatest hits. Wonder also invited some of the audience, this writer included, to audition for him on his hit, Part Time Lover. While he told us we were better than the previous, uh, contestant, we’ll be keeping the full time day job.
In Epic, opening Friday, Miami’s own Pitbull plays a character that always makes money, no matter the situation.
The term “hot mess” doesn’t come close to describing Amanda Bynes. The troubled actress appeared disheveled in a long blond wig and sweats Friday in a criminal court where she was charged with reckless endangerment. She was also charged with attempted tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of marijuana, all misdemeanors.
