Fort Lauderdale housekeeper tries to clean client’s bank account, authorities say

 

Authorities say a Fort Lauderdale woman did some sweeping up in a bank account and allegedly stole checks from the Key Largo man who hired her to work as a housekeeper.

Carol Barrett, 52, was charged with uttering and possessing a forged check and grand theft. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said she tried to cash two of the victim’s checks for a total of $1,300.
