During the last month I’ve walked my 18-month-old son through various parks and common areas in Miami and Miami Beach. We walked on the boardwalk in Miami Beach, spent a morning at South Pointe Park. We wanted to spend a morning at the park at 53rd Street and Collins Avenue, but we encountered unleashed dogs, even though there are signs that say no dogs.
Flamingo Park was the worst offender; unleashed dogs were running everywhere, despite the fact that there are two dog parks in the park. At Miami’s Margaret Pace Park, the story was the same.
The rules are not enforced. Until some people receive citations, people will continue to disobey the rules. It’s only a matter of time before something terrible happens. At least we don’t have to worry about pit bulls.
