ndahlberg@miamiherald.com

Florida International University’s Americas Venture Capital Conference is accepting applications for startup and later stage companies to showcase their ventures in front of angel investors, venture capitalists and private equity professionals at its two-day AVCC conference Dec. 13 and 14 at the JW Marriott Hotel on Brickell Avenue in Miami.

This year, up to 20 companies will be chosen to present.

The theme of the third annual conference will be Data, Design & Dollars and will feature panelists and keynote speakers from the entrepreneur and investment communities around the hemisphere who will discuss cloud computing, the influence of design in the user experience and winning investment strategies.

For startups and later stage companies chosen to present, of course there are prizes but the biggest benefit is exposure. The application deadline is Friday, Sept. 14.
