TALLAHASSEE -- A day after being held out of Florida States first scrimmage for precautionary reasons, senior quarterback EJ Manuel was fully dressed and back on the field for the Seminoles on Friday.
Manuel had rolled up on the ankle Wednesday night at practice and stayed off of it Thursday as his teammates scrimmaged, but the fifth-year senior was back with his teammates, ready to practice Friday.
Redshirt sophomore Clint Trickett took the first team reps in Manuels place. Trickett was 0-2 filling in for Manuel in two starts last season.
• The Seminoles practiced in shells Friday and focused on cleaning up some of the mistakes from the previous days scrimmage.
I told them I was a little disappointed [because] I thought we could have finished better, coach Jimbo Fisher said after the scrimmage. I dont think its something that cant be fixed, its not a major thing but something I saw.
Florida State will have a two-a-day Saturday.
