Autistic boy’s mom says he can’t sleep after alleged abuse

 

A teacher charged with physical child abuse was granted $2,000 bond, and the mother of the autistic boy in the case described his state.

The single mother of a 12-year-old autistic boy who police said was roughed up by a teacher at a private Davie school broke into tears Thursday evening as she described the episode’s effect on her son: The boy can’t sleep and seeks comfort in childhood toys.

Teacher David Michael Baier, 49, Davie, is charged with two counts of physical child abuse, accused of pulling the boy’s hair and throwing him to the floor.
