The 82-year-old disabled veteran of two wars filed a civil lawsuit accusing a troubled Fort Lauderdale police officer of illegally arresting him and using excessive force — “slamming” him to the ground, shattering his hip and forcing him to use a wheelchair for the last 2 ½ years of his life.
Wednesday, a jury in Fort Lauderdale federal court took about 20 minutes to side with the officer, rejecting all the allegations against him.
