Progress is supposed to mean that life gets easier, problems are solved and, if we are talking about travel, it’s improved. However, Miami-Dade Transit has accomplished the opposite. At the end of July, the Miami airport’s public bus terminal was moved. Buses no longer are permitted to enter Miami International Airport. No longer can you get a bus just across from the E concourse; a five-minute walk. Now it takes at least a half an hour — 25 minutes of walking from the E concourse and then a five-minute train ride.
There are a few Peoplemovers, but on a recent evening one of them was out of order. If you’re disabled or elderly, the trip has become an impossibility.
Even for the able-bodied, getting a bus at the airport has become time-consuming, tiring and inconvenient.
