Responsible leader

 

I was encouraged to read the Aug. 8 article Sharpton calls for getting ‘soul to polls.’ Rev. Sharpton’s speech at the New Birth Baptist Church Cathedral in Opa-locka, “encouraging black voters to register, get the proper ID and cast their ballots” was a responsible, courageous and upfront statement made by a well-respected leader of the African-American community.

I am suspicious of those who oppose having to show ID when casting a ballot. Congratulations to Sharpton for leading down the righteous, responsible and honest path.

    On five Sunday television talk shows, the Obama administration sent out senior advisor Dan Pfeiffer to downplay the three recent scandals: AP, IRS and Benghazi. His claim that the still-unanswered question of where President Obama was and what he did was irrelevant, since Obama was in contact with his staff, was particularly outrageous.
