The lowdown: It may be petite but this shop is big on gift-giving ideas. Just-opened Petite Chic boutique is brimming with personalized and custom-made presents and curious goods. “We specialize in personalized and custom made-to-order products, and a wide array of readily available gifts for any occasion — for children and adults alike as well as items for the home and travel,” owner Alison Zhuk says.

The ‘hood: In the Design District across the street from Harry’s Pizzeria. Highlights: Scoop up the shop’s bestseller — its Petite Chic private labeled custom travel bags featuring a choice of fabric combinations and appliquéd monograms that can even be covered in vinyl. Also up for keeps? Voluspa and D. L. & Co. apothecary lines, Graphic Image leather goods, Sofia Cashmere blankets and travel accessories, Plain Mary luxury baby gift items, Boatman Geller custom stationery and more.

The owner says: “Everyone loves to receive a personalized or custom-made gift as it shows thought was given to the gift selection process. I offer my customers a personal shopping experience where they can work one on one with me to create something special. With many years in the fashion industry, I bring my personal expertise to the

table!” Oui to that.
