Broward plans to expand rush-hour express bus service to Miami

 

While demand for express commuter service from West Broward to Fort Lauderdale has lagged, it continues to grow for the Miami routes, which will add buses in the months ahead.

Broward County Transit will hold two community meetings on proposed changes to express buses.

The meetings are scheduled for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Miramar Transit Center, 2300 Civic Center Pl., and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Weston Branch Library, 4205 Bonaventure Blvd., Weston.

New express buses from Miramar and Pembroke Pines to Miami are so packed that more routes and buses are being added.

But the idea of leaving a car behind to commute from the Broward’s western suburbs to downtown Fort Lauderdale hasn’t caught on as quickly.
