Florida State Seminoles’ youthful offensive line a concern

Miami Herald Writer

Youthful offensive line

One of the other areas of concern, aside from replacing cornerback Greg Reid, that faces the Seminoles as they open camp is their offensive line.

Last year the line was a revolving door, largely because of injuries and inconsistency.

The Seminoles finished the season ranked 104th in rushing.

The lone veteran was senior Zebrie Sanders, who started alongside four freshmen against Notre Dame in the Champs Sports Bowl.

Sanders is now in the NFL after being drafted in the fifth round by the Buffalo Bills in April.

A number of underclassmen such as Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas alums Austin Barron and Bobby Hart got game experience on the line as freshmen last season.

Coach Jimbo Fisher is confident offensive line coach Rick Trickett will improve the issues that plagued the FSU offense in 2011. He even went as far as predicting the line would be a team strength during last month’s Atlantic Coast Conference kickoff.
