The sports scene

Lots of eye candy at the Olympics

Forget that old expression, “Never let them see you sweat.” These Olympic athletes are hot stuff — even if you’re not a big sports fan. Though it was extremely challenging to narrow down the most genetically blessed competitors to a mere 15, we gave it the old college try:

Ryan Lochte, 28: This U.S. swimmer from upstate New York is looking to be the Games’ bad boy. It’s not that he admitted to urinating in the warm-up pool, it’s that the love ’em and leave ’em bachelor plans to move to L.A. for life in an even faster lane. Lochte admitted to Women’s Health that he would only date someone fit; his dream woman is Carmen Electra. Wonder if she wouldn’t mind one night stands?

Ashton Eaton, 24: The Oregon decathlete is a softie. Back in June, he cried to girlfriend and fellow Olympian Brianne Theisen when he set the world record in the trials before heading to London. Yup, he’s taken. Eaton met the track and field cutie at the University of Oregon, and they are engaged. At least you can see him in shirtless action in June spread for Vogue.

Lolo Jones, 29: Don’t look for this hurdle queen from Louisiana partaking in any extracurricular fun at the Olympic village. She admitted on HBO’s Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel that she’s a virgin and is having trouble meeting nice guys. Um, we know of someone...initials TT.

Stephanie Rice, 24: Looking good is the best revenge. After splitting with unfaithful rugby player Quade Cooper in January, the sometimes controversial Aussie swimmer Tweeted a sexy pic of herself in a red swimsuit. Though Rice has a rep as a party girl, she told the Sunday Telegraph: “I have had two serious boyfriends, but apparently I have been with every sportsperson alive.”

Leryn Franco, 30: This princess from Paraguay is almost as well known for her model good looks as her javelin abilities. Franco made mouths water when she appeared in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. The beauty queen split last year from footballer Lucas Barrios (who cheated!), and is rumored to be dating a Chilean businessman.

Natalie Coughlin, 29: This decorated swimmer/team captain is off the market. There to root on the former Dancing with the Stars contestant is hubby, swim coach Ethan Hall.

Danell Leyva, 20: This Homestead boy has done us proud. We’ll take the bronze! Though it’s unclear if the adorable gymnast has a significant other, we know he loves his constant companion, a gray and blue towel with stars. It even has thousand of followers on Twitter @leyvastowel.

Melanie Adams, 23: The Australian pole-vaulting babe has lofty goals. The finalist for 2006 Miss Teen Australia hopes to enter the Miss Universe pageant. Google Melanie in a swimsuit; she won’t mind.

David Boudia, 23: Look but don’t touch the Indiana born diver. In May he tweeted that he was definitely not single. “I am officially engaged!!! Can’t wait to spend my life with you @snunnie!” That’s code for Sonnie Brand, whom he met at Purdue.

Alex Morgan, 23: The soccer honey from California talks shop with her beau: Servando Carrasco is a midfielder for the Seattle Sounders men’s team, she’s on the women’s side.

Natasha Hastings, 26: This track and field diva is not known for her shyness. The New Yorker took it all off in last year’s ESPN Body issue but admitted she was afraid of what her adoring boyfriend, Arizona Cardinals cornerback William Gay, would say. Turns out he was OK with it.

Honorable mentions: Dominican volleyball powerhouse Milagros Cabral de la Cruz, 33; David Oliver, 30-year-old track and fielder from Kissimmee, Fl.; Norwegian track beauty Christina Vukicevic, 25; and Aussie swimmer James “The Missile” Magnussen, 21.
