The Seminoles first practice is Monday with fan day on Aug. 12. Florida State kicks off its season a few weeks later on Sept. 1 when the Seminoles host Murray State.

New Arrival

The Seminoles will be with one unexpected new arrival when practice starts Monday.

Former Penn State tight end Kevin Haplea opted to leave Happy Valley and transfer to Florida State after the NCAA handed down its punishment to the Nittany Lions last week.

Haplea, a 6-4, 250-pound junior, played in every game for Penn State last season.

He is an extremely talented blocker and will compete with Nick O’Leary, grandson of golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, for playing time this fall.
