Kudos to Marc Caputo for his excellent July 22 column, Hispanic rivalries add to mix of hardball Florida politics. It is refreshing to read that someone recognizes that many rivalries and differences do exist amongst Spanish speakers in our country.

The fact is that Hispanics are composed of many ethnic groups and that prejudices can surface. Most importantly, we concur that Hispanic is not a race. Speakers of Spanish, like their English-speaking counterparts, can be of any race.

We thank Caputo for getting the facts straight!
