Why can’t we vote for the office of Ballot Question Editor? Instead of, “Shall the ordinance repealing the county’s 23-year-old law prohibiting the ownership of pit bulls as a dangerous breed of dogs become effective,” why not simply, “Should pit bulls be allowed?”

The number of small businesses in the United States and their economic impact has increased dramatically in recent decades. According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses currently provide 55 percent of all jobs and are responsible for 66 percent of all net new jobs since the 1970s.
I feel like we don’t have a baseball team in Miami anymore. At least not a bonafide Major League team.
By signing HB 655, which bars local governments from enacting their own ordinances on employee benefits, Gov. Rick Scott shows once again that he is beholden to big business at any cost — even at the expense of women, children, workers and those falling behind.
