Christian Bale arrives for the European premiere of his latest film 'The Dark Knight Rises' in London's Leicester Square on July 18, 2012.
Actor Christian Bale, the star of The Dark Knight Rises, flew to Colorado on Tuesday to visit the victims of the Aurora movie theater shooting — who were watching his film when they were ambushed by a mass killer.

The Denver Post is reporting that Warner Brothers confirmed Bale was in Aurora on his own.

"Mr. Bale is there as himself, not representing Warner Brothers," said an assistant for Susan Fleishman, executive vice president for Warner Brothers corporate communications, the newspaper said.

Some of the hospitalized victims shared photos on social media of themselves with Bale at their bedside.

At a Friday midnight showing of the latest entry in the Batman series in Aurora, a gunman identified as James Holmes opened fire on moviegoers inside the theater, killing 12 patrons and wounding 58.
